Fleet is a trainer, coach, educator, prison reform activist,
and peace worker with over 25 years experience. He
teaches engaged spirituality and contemplative approaches to social action and
peacemaking at Naropa University. He is a certified trainer with the Center for
Council Training, Peacemaker Circle International, and HeartStream Education. Fleet
is a senior meditation teacher in both the Zen Peacemaker and Shambhala Buddhist communities.
Judith has been a leading edge teacher of human consciousness for over
twenty-five years pioneering a trans-traditional approach to spirituality. Serving
as a psychotherapist, coach, seminar leader and organizational consultant, she
travels throughout the US and Canada offering training in spiritually based social
action and leadership. Judith
is also a yoga teacher, ceremonialist/minister and wilderness quest guide.
Sensei Grover Genro Gauntt, Retreat Leader Genro is a Founding Teacher of the Zen Peacemaker Order and a dharma successor of Roshi Bernie Glassman. He started studying with Maezumi Roshi at the Zen Center of Los Angeles in 1971 serving as Board Chairman there from 1987 to 1997. After the passing of Maezumi Roshi in 1995, he worked closely with Bernie and started serving full time as Executive Director of the Peacemaker Community in early 1997. He studied at the University of Southern California and at the Wharton school of the University of Pennsylvania and has an MBA in finance. Feeling that his path was to unfold from a lay perspective, he pursued a professional career in real estate and finance forming Western Property Research, a real estate consulting firm that operated from 1984 to 1997. He has two sons, John and Parker. Baptized as a Congregationalist and raised as a Presbyterian., his interfaith studies have led him to explore Native American traditions and Sufi Muslim practices. Further interfaith plunges will include Jewish and Catholic retreats.
Kate Pires Crisp, Program Director
Kate is the Executive Director of Prison Dharma Network. She is a certified meditation instructor and has trained extensively in Nonviolent Communication (NVC). Her educational background includes a degree in Criminal Justice. She is also a graduate of Naropa University's Authentic Leadership program, is certified in Spiral Dyamics Integral and is a graduate of Matrixworks Leadership Training. Kate teaches peacemaker skills in Colorado prisons and jails and is the publisher/editor of "Sitting Inside: Buddhist Practice in America's Prisons" and "Dharma in Hell: Prison Writings of Fleet Maull." She is the author of "Path of Freedom" a workbook based on the Integral Peacemaker training geared for prisoners and youth at risk.
